By law a home that was built before 1978 must be tested for lead prior to any construction work being started that affects an interior area of more than 6 SF or an exterior area greater than 20 SF.  If lead is present certain procedures must be followed legally in order to protect anyone that may come into contact with the area being disturbed. Not just anyone can do the testing. As of April 22, 2010 a person or company must be certified by the EPA in order to test for lead or work on a home that contains lead. I have been certified as a lead safe renovator by the EPA.

What benefit is it to you to hire a lead safe renovator? First of all it is the law.  As a certified renovator I can legally and properly  test the area that work is to be done for lead. If lead is present you can be assured that we will take all the proper safety measures to keep you and your family safe from exposure to lead during any construction work we preform on your home.
